Afraid to Look Stupid? Here’s the Truth You Need!

There’s a fear most people won’t admit to, the fear of looking stupid. We avoid situations where we might be judged, laughed at, or misunderstood. I was reminded of this when I read a story in Steve Sims’ book Go for Stupid, shortly after he passed. A woman fell in the street, and her first worry wasn’t her injury. It was whether anyone had filmed it. She just didn’t want to be laughed at.

That hit me hard because I’ve been there. For years, I avoided writing a book because I thought people might think, “Who does he think he is?” I made excuses, but the truth was I was afraid of putting myself out there and getting judged. When I finally wrote it, the response was more powerful than I imagined.

So now I’m asking you, what are you holding back from because you’re afraid of what people might think? What’s the idea, the move, the next step that feels risky but right? Someone out there needs what you have to offer. Go for it. Go for “stupid.”

Chatbots are everywhere right now but most of them just spit out preloaded answers. I wanted to show you what we’ve been working on behind the scenes: an AI chatbot that actually learns and grows with you. We built a system that doesn’t just store static info, it connects to your YouTube, Google Drive, and soon even your social posts, updating itself daily with new content. So when someone asks your bot a question, it can pull insights from across your real-world content like video transcripts, blogs, and docs, and deliver a smart, personalized answer.

No more outdated responses or constant manual updates. This is a self-updating RAG system (retrieval augmented generation), and we’re building it to work not just for us but for every client we serve. It's already in motion for our community launch, and honestly… this is just one small piece of a much bigger (and cooler) AI puzzle we’re putting together.

That quote hit hard. It’s unsettling to realize how much of what we’re told to do for our health isn’t rooted in real evidence but rather in repetition. It made me think about how easily we follow advice just because it’s familiar or widely accepted. This book has been a powerful reminder that tradition doesn’t equal truth, and that blindly following “what’s always been done” can quietly work against our well-being. I’m walking away from each chapter with more clarity, more questions, and a stronger resolve to lead with curiosity when it comes to my health.
