Atiba’s Musings 🤓
Stop Setting Resolutions: How One Theme Can Transform Your Year
I’ve never been big on New Year’s resolutions.
If you do them and they work for you, that’s great. For me, I’ve always leaned more toward choosing a focus—a theme for the year. Something that answers the question:
What do I need to concentrate on to actually get to the next level?
This year’s theme came from an uncomfortable realization.
Back when I was a sprinter, our coaches drilled one thing into us: run through the finish line. You don’t slow down at the line, you sprint past it. Somewhere along the way, I lost that mindset.
I get a lot done. I plan. I execute. I check things off. But I noticed something in my daily lists: I was consistently leaving about 20% unfinished. Not because I couldn’t do it—but because, subconsciously, I decided I deserved to stop.
“I did enough today.”
“I’ll push that to tomorrow.”
That wasn’t a capacity issue. That was ego.
When I really sat with it, I realized that 20% a day adds up fast. Over a week, that’s essentially an entire extra day of productivity I was giving away—by choice. Over a year? That’s more than a month of lost progress.
That hit me hard.
So my theme this year is simple:
Finish.
Finish the things I start. Finish the day strong. Run through the line instead of slowing down just because I feel entitled to rest early.
Last year, my theme was 10x. We committed to it, questioned it, even laughed about how unrealistic it sounded. And by the end of the year, we realized we didn’t just hit it—we blew past it. That’s the power of having a clear focus.
So I’ll ask you the same thing I asked myself:
If you had a theme this year, one thing to focus on that could completely change where you are a year from now—what would it be?
If this resonated, I break it down even deeper in the full video.
👉 Watch the full video on my channel and make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss the next one.
And I’d genuinely love to hear from you—reply to this email and tell me what your theme would be, or what stood out to you most.
Let’s run through the line this year.

Bonus Insight 🎁
Sometimes growth doesn’t come from advice—it comes from presence.
Kat taught me that. No lecture. No strategy. Just steady, grounded presence. And in a moment, I realized: some people don’t teach by talking—they teach by finishing what they start and embodying it.
They model calm when things are chaotic. Integrity when shortcuts tempt you. Alignment when the world rewards chaos.
And without trying, they pull you closer to the version of yourself you want to be.
Tease: Small moments can spark big shifts.
Ask yourself: Who around you quietly pushes you to finish, to grow?
The Delegation Trap 📕
Delegation fails without discipline and follow-through.
Leaders hesitate. Wait for clarity. Wait for safety. But disciplined leaders finish what they start, even without full certainty.
Inside, you’ll learn:
Why waiting to delegate keeps you stuck
How disciplined systems create ownership
How acting consistently moves progress forward
Delegation isn’t giving things away. It’s finishing the important work by leveraging others without delay.
👉 Build systems that keep momentum and ensure nothing important is left unfinished.
What We’re Building with AI 🤖
📽️ TrueMD Institute - Freedom 30™ Tracker
We turned a massive 120-day checklist into an interactive app. Why? Because people don’t finish static spreadsheets—they forget them.
The Freedom 30 Launch App tracks progress, breaks goals into weekly tasks, and motivates consistent action.
AI tools amplify your clarity, not replace it. When you feed them organized focus, they help you finish more.
This isn’t about technology, it’s about finishing what you start every day.

It reminded me that no strategy, idea, or plan matters until you commit to finishing it consistently.
