Your Core Values Might Be Wrong!

Issue #94 - May 14, 2026

I’m almost willing to bet your core values are wrong.

Yeah… that sounds harsh.

Maybe even rude.

But hear me out.

We’re living through one of the fastest shifts any of us have ever seen.

AI is moving at a speed that honestly feels insane sometimes.

Every week there’s:

  • a new model

  • a new tool

  • a new framework

  • a new “this changes everything” announcement

And most people are reacting the same way:

Excitement.
Fear.
Confusion.
Shiny object syndrome.

But underneath all of that noise…

there’s one thing I think will determine who actually survives this next era.

Not who gets attention.
Not who makes a quick buck.
Not who posts the coolest AI demo.

Who actually thrives long term.

And I think most companies are missing it completely.

The core value is this:

Curiosity.

Not intelligence.

Not speed.

Not even technical skill.

Curiosity.

Because the people who win in this next phase are going to be the people willing to ask better questions.

The people willing to challenge assumptions.

The people willing to say:

“If this is true… what else could be true?”

And honestly?

That’s uncomfortable for a lot of people.

Because curiosity forces you to admit something most leaders hate admitting:

“Maybe the way we’ve always done it isn’t enough anymore.”

That doesn’t mean abandoning fundamentals.

Actually, the opposite.

One thing I keep trying to tell people is:

Being curious does not mean chasing every shiny object.

That’s not curiosity.

That’s distraction.

Real curiosity is grounded.

It asks:

  • Does this actually matter to us?

  • Does this solve a real problem?

  • Does this align with the fundamentals of our business?

  • Is this sustainable… or just exciting?

That’s the difference.

Because AI is going to change your business whether you’re ready or not.

That part is already happening.

The real question is:

Will your company adapt fast enough without losing itself in the process?

And I think the companies that struggle most over the next few years won’t necessarily be the least technical.

They’ll be the least curious.

The ones who:

  • stop questioning

  • stop learning

  • stop exploring

  • stop evolving

Even for a month right now…

you can fall behind fast.

That’s why I think curiosity has to become cultural.

Not just personal.

Your team needs it.

Your leadership needs it.

Your company needs it.

Because once curiosity becomes part of the culture…

something interesting happens:

People stop waiting to be told what to do.

They start thinking.

They start exploring.

They start solving problems differently.

And this part really stuck with me from the conversation…

There’s actually a way AI can help us become more curious.

Not less human.

Not less thoughtful.

More curious.

I recently came across Mercer and his work around something called experiential prompting.

And honestly, it completely changed the way I think about interacting with AI.

Not just using AI to get answers…

But using AI to help you ask better questions.

That’s a very different relationship.

And once you start interacting with AI that way…

everything changes.

The quality of your thinking changes.
The quality of your strategy changes.
The quality of your decisions changes.

And maybe that’s the bigger shift happening right now.

The people who thrive won’t just be the ones using AI.

They’ll be the ones learning how to think differently with AI.

If you want the deeper version of this conversation…

and want to understand why I think curiosity might become the most important business trait of the next decade…

There’s a lot more underneath this than I could fit into one email.

Quick one, especially if you’re a physician 👨‍⚕️

We’ve been building something called AiM (AI & Marketing) Rounds.

But honestly…

it’s less about “AI tips” and more about creating a space where doctors can think out loud together.

Real conversations.
Real questions.
Real challenges happening inside practices right now.

No consulting fees.
No pressure.
No complicated funnel.

Just a community where doctors can ask questions about growth, AI, marketing, leadership… and get honest answers.
